Last Updated: June 25, 2026
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern all custom products, services, repairs, modifications, and purchases provided by EXL Lighting. By placing an order, sending parts to EXL Lighting, or purchasing products or services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms.
These Terms should be read together with our Shipping Policy, Return & Refund Policy, Warranty Policy, Privacy Policy, and Terms of Service.
1. Custom-Built Products
All EXL Lighting products and services are custom-built or customized specifically for each customer.
Due to the nature of custom automotive work:
- Every build is unique.
- Slight variations in finish, color, texture, lighting appearance, and component placement are considered normal.
- Product photos shown on our website are examples of previous builds and may not exactly represent your completed order.
2. Customer-Supplied Parts
Many EXL Lighting services require customers to send in their own parts.
Customers are responsible for ensuring all supplied components are:
- Correct for their vehicle.
- Complete.
- Suitable for the requested service.
EXL Lighting reserves the right to refuse work on parts that are unsafe, excessively damaged, previously modified in a way that compromises quality, or otherwise unsuitable for service.
3. Used Parts Disclaimer
Many customer-supplied components are previously used.
While every effort is made to handle all parts with care, EXL Lighting cannot guarantee the continued functionality of aged or previously worn OEM components, including but not limited to:
- LED modules
- Ballasts
- Control modules
- Internal electronics
- Motors
- Factory wiring
- Other factory-installed electrical components
Failures unrelated to EXL Lighting workmanship are not covered under warranty.
4. Vehicle Fitment
Customers are responsible for verifying compatibility before purchasing products or services.
Vehicle trim levels, production changes, aftermarket modifications, prior repairs, and manufacturer revisions may affect compatibility.
EXL Lighting is not responsible for compatibility issues resulting from incorrect vehicle information provided by the customer.
5. Paint Matching
EXL Lighting works with professional automotive paint suppliers to achieve the closest possible factory color match.
Exact paint matches cannot be guaranteed due to variables including:
- Vehicle age
- Sun exposure
- Previous repairs
- Paint batch variations
- Lighting conditions
- Factory manufacturing tolerances
Minor color variations are considered normal.
6. Installation
Unless otherwise stated, customers are responsible for installation of purchased products.
Professional installation is strongly recommended.
EXL Lighting is not responsible for damage resulting from improper installation, wiring errors, misuse, abuse, improper maintenance, or modifications made after delivery.
7. Electrical Components
Certain lighting upgrades require additional wiring, controllers, relays, switches, programming, or vehicle-specific modifications.
Customers are responsible for ensuring their vehicle is compatible with the selected options.
Improper installation or failure to complete required wiring may result in reduced functionality or product failure.
8. Production Times
Production times listed by EXL Lighting are estimates only.
Completion times may be affected by:
- Supplier availability
- Shipping carrier delays
- Paint curing requirements
- Parts availability
- Seasonal workload
- Customer communication delays

17. Customer-Requested Changes
Because every project is custom-built, requested changes after an order has been placed may not always be possible.
If changes are approved after production has begun, they may result in:
- Additional charges
- Extended production times
- Changes to previously quoted completion estimates
Once certain stages of production have been completed, some customization requests may no longer be available.
18. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes
By placing an order with EXL Lighting, you acknowledge that custom work often begins shortly after your order is accepted.
Submitting a payment dispute or chargeback for work that has already begun, products that have shipped, or services that have been completed does not automatically cancel your contractual obligations.
In the event of a payment dispute, EXL Lighting reserves the right to provide order documentation, communications, invoices, production records, photographs, shipping records, and other relevant evidence to the payment processor or financial institution handling the dispute.
Where permitted by applicable law, EXL Lighting also reserves the right to pursue recovery of unpaid balances, materials, labor, shipping costs, and other damages resulting from fraudulent or unwarranted chargebacks.
19. Storage of Customer Property
Customers are responsible for retrieving completed projects and maintaining communication regarding customer-supplied parts.
If completed work or customer property remains unclaimed for an extended period after reasonable attempts to establish contact, EXL Lighting reserves the right to assess reasonable storage fees where permitted by law.
If property remains unclaimed despite reasonable notice, EXL Lighting reserves all rights available under applicable law regarding storage, recovery of costs, and disposition of unclaimed property.
20. Customer Communication
Customers are responsible for monitoring the email address and contact information provided with their order.
Delays in responding to requests for payment, approvals, additional information, or shipping confirmation may delay production or shipment.
EXL Lighting is not responsible for delays resulting from a customer's failure to respond in a timely manner.
